Early dental evaluation and treatment of your child's teeth can simplify treatment later. We can guide the growth of the jaw and incoming permanent teeth, regulate the width of the dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth and avoid the need for tooth extractions. We recommend brining your children in for an evaluation at age 7 years or earlier if there ar signs of teeth crowding or jaw problems. Treatment with full braces can be started between the ages of 10-12 years when all or most of the permanent teeth have erupted.

We can give you a dazzling new smile that is so radiant it will change the way you feel about yourself. With options including traditional braces, retainers and Invisilign® custom invisible aligners, you can have straight, beautiful teeth.

Early Intervention

Early intervention can prevent complicated orthodontic issues.

  • Crowding
  • Gaps
  • Protruding teeth
  • Extra or missing teeth
  • Irregular jaw growth

Why get braces?
A beautiful smile and improved self-image is the most obvious benefit of braces but having aligned and evenly spaced teeth contribute to a healthier life.

  • Straight and evenly spaced teeth are easier to keep clean
  • Properly aligned teeth chew more efficiently and may reduce tension
  • Clearer speech
  • Mis-aligned teeth or jaws have abnormal wear of tooth surfaces which can lead to chronic headaches and neck pain

Oral healthcare and braces

The following recommendations will help reduce any oral health problems your child's teeth may experienc while in braces:

  • Make certain your child is brushing after every meal with flouride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Ensure your child is flossing daily between teeth and braces.
  • Avoid hard and/or sticky foods and snacks that may be difficult to remove from the braces. This includes popcorn, chewing gum, nuts, ice chips, hard candy, chewy candy.
  • Limit your child's sugar and starch consumption. Food pieces left behind from these types of foods promote damaging acids in the mouth that can be harmful to teeth and gums.
